Mission Darkness Eclipse Faraday Bag for Solar Panels

Rugged EMP & RF Shield for Solar Panels and Oversized Devices

SKU: MDFB-DS-SOL

The Mission Darkness™ Eclipse Faraday Bag for Solar Panels is protects portable solar panels from the damaging effects of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) or coronal mass ejection (CME). The bag is built with a durable and water-resistant ballistic nylon outer material to ensure that devices and faraday liner stay protected. The interior includes three layers of high-shielding TitanRF™ Faraday Fabric on all sides with dual paired seam construction. This material has been lab tested and certified "compliant" for MIL-STD-188-125, High-Altitude Electromagnetic Protection for Ground Based C4I Facilities. The results ensure that the material surpasses military shielding requirements to handle natural or man-made EMPs. In the case of an EMP or CME, everything from electrical infrastructure on a national level to personal electronics could be destroyed, which is why it’s imperative to shield survival electronics. The high-shielding properties of the bag direct damaging electromagnetic fields away from highly sensitive electrical components, thus protecting their working structure.

The large and unique size of the bag allows it to accommodate most portable solar panels, including Goal Zero Portable Solar Panels (Boulder and Nomad series), Renogy (Monocrystalline Solar Panel/Suitcases), HQST (Monocrystalline Solar Suitcases), plus accompanying accessories like charge controllers and cables. The bag is built with a removable polypropylene plastic base plate secured in a bottom zipper compartment to provide ample support for oversized items. Padded handles with load-bearing webbing completely wrap around the sides to support the weight of heavy objects during transport. The front side of the bag includes a deep unshielded zipper compartment and a large transparent pocket to keep accessories accessible while not compromising the shielding of the electronic items inside the main compartment.

Once the solar panels or electronics are properly enclosed inside the bag, they become isolated from outside wireless signals. Damaging effects from an EMP or related occurrence cannot penetrate the bag to destroy the electrical components inside. The bag will block WiFi (2.4 & 5GHz), Bluetooth, cell signals including 5G networks, GPS, RFID, NFC, and radio signals from low MHz to 40GHz. The immense size of the bag can also be used for shielding large electronics and survival gear. The complete signal cut-off allows you to go off-grid and keep electronic devices untrackable. This is the ultimate safety bag for protecting solar panels and survival electronics from a natural or man-made disaster occurrence such as an EMP or CME.

*For waterproof protection, consider purchasing the Dry Shield Eclipse Faraday Bag for Solar Panels, a waterproof version of this product. To shield accompanying electronics, such as generators or power stations, options include the Dry Shield Rapture Faraday Bag, Revelation EMP Shield, and T10 Faraday Bag.

Eclipse Faraday Bag

Overall very good. The only thing I can think of is to add additional set of straps that are adjustable. I have the Eccoflow solar panel in there an it's nowhere close to filling the bag. Having an option to roll the bag down and synch it tight would great. Something can be rigged using the molle webbing, but it's just more stuff to buy. Not many options out there for my current size of panel.

Great bag for solar panels

Both Eco flow panels fit perfectly. Great quality and very aggressive Velcro closures.

Really works and great quality

I had to return other ones because they didn’t work from different companies, but this one has worked the best and the quality is amazing!

Goal Zero 200/YETI 1500X Storage

This was the third MOS faraday bag purchased to protect my Goal Zero Boulder 200 solar panels. I am able to put two panels into each Eclipse Bag for Solar Panels bag (the carrying bags provided by Goal Zero for each panel is on the panel to protect it inside the faraday bag). The MOS bags are very well made, using quality materials and a good design. It was hard figuring out how to get the panels into the faraday bag, but I found putting two panels with the handles on the floor and pulling the faraday bag down over them worked well. I also own Goal Zero faraday bags (made by MOS) for YETI 1500X power supplies (2). These bags are very tight, but made with the same quality materials and manufacturing techniques, so with a little effort, I always get them into their bags. It would be helpful to see EMP test results for solar products stored in the bags vs. not.
