How to Select the Right TitanRF™ Faraday Fabric
Not all shielding projects are created equal. Whether you're building a Faraday enclosure, lining a server room, crafting DIY pouches, or designing wearable RF protection, choosing the right fabric makes all the difference. Here's everything you need to know about our complete lineup.
All Mission Darkness TitanRF™ faraday fabrics are engineered to block radio frequency (RF) signals, electromagnetic fields (EMF), electromagnetic interference (EMI), and high-altitude electromagnetic pulses (HEMPs). They are all lab tested and certified to shielding effectiveness standards, blocking signals from low MHz up to 40 GHz — covering WiFi, Bluetooth, cellular, GPS, RFID, NFC, and more.
Where they differ is in material composition, physical properties, thickness, and specialized features that make each one ideal for different use cases. Below, we break down every option so you can match the right fabric to your project.
The Complete TitanRF™ Fabric Lineup
This is the flagship — the same fabric used throughout our entire Mission Darkness Faraday bag product line. It's the go-to choice for anyone who needs proven, high-performance RF shielding in a durable, easy-to-work-with material. The nickel and copper woven construction delivers exceptional shielding effectiveness, making it extremely reliable for bags, enclosures, room-lining projects, and DIY builds. Available in single-yard cuts up to bulk 150-foot rolls via the Pro Construction Kits.
When your project demands a fabric that can conform to curves, wrap around irregular shapes, or stretch over contoured surfaces, TitanRF Flex is the answer. The stretchable construction maintains signal-blocking performance even under tension, making it perfect for wearable applications, form-fitting device covers, and projects where a rigid fabric simply won't work. IEEE 299-2006 certified.
For installations in commercial buildings, data centers, government facilities, and anywhere fire code compliance is required, this flame retardant variant delivers the same trusted TitanRF shielding with added fire safety. Available in two thicknesses: the thinner 42 µm option for lightweight flexibility, and the 230 µm version for heavy-duty construction. Essential for permanent installations subject to building inspections and safety regulations.
Shadow delivers the same nickel-copper shielding performance as the standard TitanRF, but with one key difference: one side is finished in black. This makes it the preferred choice for projects where visual appearance matters — such as interior wall linings, curtains, visible enclosures, or any application where the raw metallic look of traditional faraday fabric isn't ideal.
TerraDefend features a rich, distinctive copper-colored exterior that sets it apart from the standard metallic-gray look. Functionally, it provides the same high-performance nickel-copper shielding, blocking signals from low MHz to 40 GHz. It's a great option for designers and builders who want visible faraday shielding with a warm, industrial aesthetic — or for budget-friendly projects at just $12/yard.
This is a game-changer for applications where you need to see through the shielding material. The translucent mesh construction allows visual monitoring of devices — such as viewing a phone or tablet screen — while still providing RF signal isolation. It's the fabric of choice for forensic analysis enclosures, observation windows in shielded rooms, and any setup where maintaining line-of-sight to shielded contents is critical.
Nikronic uses a pure nickel composition rather than the nickel-copper blend found in most TitanRF fabrics. Nickel offers excellent corrosion resistance and magnetic shielding properties, making Nikronic ideal for environments with moisture exposure or where magnetic field attenuation is a priority alongside RF shielding. A strong option for marine, outdoor, or high-humidity installations.
TechFusion is a non-woven conductive fabric available in multiple thickness variants (17 µm in two grid options, 22 µm, and 65 µm), giving you fine-grained control over weight, flexibility, and shielding characteristics. The non-woven construction provides a smooth, uniform surface ideal for laminating, adhering to surfaces, and integration into composite layups. A versatile choice for technical and industrial applications.
TechWeave rounds out the lineup with a woven construction available in multiple material variants, offering different balances of conductivity, weight, and flexibility. This gives engineers and fabricators a range of options within the woven category — whether you need an ultra-light shielding layer or a heavier-duty woven material for structural integration. Designed for technical users with specific engineering requirements.

Not Sure Where to Start?
Here are some common scenarios and the fabric we recommend for each:
Start with the TitanRF Faraday Fabric — our flagship material and the same fabric we use across our entire Faraday bag product line. It's the most popular choice for a reason.
Shop TitanRF →Choose TitanRF Flex. Its stretchable weave conforms to curves and irregular shapes without sacrificing shielding performance — ideal for apparel and contoured covers.
Shop Flex →The Flame Retardant variant delivers full TitanRF shielding with fire-rated construction, purpose-built for data centers, SCIFs, and commercial facilities with strict safety requirements.
Shop Flame Retardant →TitanRF Translucent uses a conductive mesh that lets you visually monitor device screens while maintaining full RF isolation — the go-to for forensic analysis enclosures and observation windows.
Shop Translucent →Shadow offers a sleek black finish and TerraDefend features a warm copper exterior — both provide high-performance shielding with an aesthetic that looks intentional, not improvised.
Shop Shadow → Shop TerraDefend →TechFusion (non-woven, available in 17–65 µm) and TechWeave (woven, multiple variants) give engineers fine-grained options for laminating, composite layups, and custom fabrication.

Sold by the yard. All TitanRF faraday fabrics are sold by the yard. When you order multiple quantities, the fabric ships as one continuous piece unless you request individual cuts in the checkout notes.
Custom lengths available. All fabrics can be cut to any length to fit your project. If you need a specific quantity or are planning a large-scale installation, contact us for a quote.
Overlap and seal properly. For enclosures and room shielding, overlap seams by at least 2–3 inches and use conductive tape to seal edges. The integrity of your shielded environment depends on eliminating gaps.
Plan for your application first. Consider factors like whether the fabric will be visible, if it needs to stretch, whether fire ratings are required, and if you need to see through it. These requirements will narrow your choice quickly.
